What is the release date for ‘The Witcher’ season 3 on Netflix?

There is not only one release date – there are two (you read that right).

When the second season of The Witcher ended we were left on a cliffhanger and promised more drama in the third season than the previous two combined. We learned that a character believed to be dead was, in fact, alive. We learned that Ciri (Freya Allan) was capable of more than anyone expected. We danced the very fine line between allegiance and self-preservation with Yennifer (Anya Chalotra), only to discover how thin it is. And we delved even deeper into The Witcher lore that we’ve come to love and appreciate.

The excitement for a third season was at an all-time high when Netflix announced Henry Cavill’s departure. Australian actor Liam Hemsworth is promised to boycott it at all costs to ensure a fourth season never sees the light of day.

The showrunners are planning for a fourth season, however, even promising a whenever that may be), we’ll meet a very different Geralt, literally and figuratively. But first, we have to make our way through season 3.

When will The Witcher season 3 premiere on Netflix?

Quite literally springing the announcement on fans, Netflix dropped the official release date for season three just two months ahead of the big day. Come June 29, Geralt, Yennifer, and Ciri will reunite on the screen once more, this time with the Wild Hunt in tow

Yennifer has her powers again, Ciri is safe from the Wild Hunt (for now), and Geralt is as devoted as ever to protecting her from those who seek to capture her (which is literally everyone — the elves, Rience, The Brotherhood of Sorcerers, Nilfgaard, The Wild Hunt… literally everyone).

Now that we know Cahir and Frangilla’s boss, Emperor Emhyr var Emreis (aka Duny, who was thought to be dead), is actually Ciri’s dad, there is an extra layer of complexity added to the quest for her capture. By the looks of the teaser trailer, there will be no shortage of breathless chases, magical battles, and bloody sword fights.

Oh, and did we mention the third season will be split into two parts? That’s right, the first volume will premiere on June 29 with the second premiering shortly thereafter on July 27.
