James Gunn has no issues naming his buddy as the best-ever version of a DC icon

And yet he's still not promising him a return in the DCU.

As Gunn itted while promoting the podcast: “yes I think he was the best Lex Luthor.”

Gunn’s comment referred to an open ission he made in conversation with Rosenbaum, stressing “You were the best Lex!” While this is a widely held opinion by the fandom, it’s maybe surprising to hear it come from depending on your point of view.
