A Florida woman was rescued from a prolonged period of abuse after leaving a desperate note in the restroom of a Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop, later discovered by an employee and reported to the police. The note led to the arrest of her boyfriend, Jordan Williams, a 34-year-old professional wrestler known in the indie circuit as “Jayden Steele.”
The Jersey Mike’s discovery
According to the Santa Rose County Sheriff’s Office, on May 27, 2025, at a Jersey Mike’s location in Navarre, Florida, employee Eleanor Coffee found a crumpled piece of paper near the restroom’s toilet paper dispenser. Mistaking it for trash, Coffee was alarmed upon reading its contents.
According to Florida news outlet WEAR, the note was a plea for help, stating: “Please help me get home! HELP! Get me before May 30th!” It included the writer’s name, address, and details about a vehicle at the residence.
The woman claimed she was being held against her will and feared for her life. Coffee immediately informed her manager and called 911.
The investigation and arrest
Upon receiving the call, the local sheriff’s office launched an investigation. Surveillance footage from the Jersey Mike’s showed the woman entering the store with Williams under the pretense of picking up DoorDash orders. She proceeded directly to the restroom, where the note was later found.
Deputies recognized the woman from previous domestic violence reports involving Williams. They obtained a search warrant for the address provided in the note. At the residence, they found the woman, who confirmed she authored the note.
She detailed a history of abuse, including repeated assaults, threats with weapons, and being held in isolation for several months. Visible injuries, including a black eye and a possible broken arm, were noted. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Charges and legal proceedings
Williams was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and felony and misdemeanor battery. Chief Deputy Randy Tifft emphasized the severity of the situation.
The victim’s mother informed authorities that her daughter suffers from bipolar disorder and a brain tumor, making her particularly vulnerable. She believed Williams was controlling her daughter’s movements. The victim’s ex-husband also reported that Williams had previously held her captive and threatened to kill his children and family.
Coffee’s attentiveness and quick action were pivotal in rescuing the victim. She expressed hope that such incidents do not recur and extended her sympathies to the victim and her family
