‘You cannot stay here in my garage!’: Woman trying to leave for vacation is blocked by intrusive neighbor who refuses to get out of her garage

One of the most frustrating experiences in life is dealing with neighbors who think they have the right to control how you live your life. TikTok recently discovered.

The video in question starts in the middle of a confrontation between our protagonist, Victoria, and the antagonist, Diane. Diane is standing between Victoria and the exit to her garage, blocking the door from closing. We can hear an exasperated Victoria telling her neighbor that she has to leave urgently to get to the airport, otherwise she’ll miss her flight. 

Despite this, Diane seems not to care, stopping the garage door from closing with her hand behaving like a child despite the fact she is clearly just an adult with too much time on her hands.

The caption within the video gives a little more information, explaining that Victoria was trying to leave as she was set to go on her “first vacation in forever.” Viewers chimed in with their own recommendations on how to handle the situation, one suggested she “walk over there make her back up and close it,” while another wrote, “call the cops for tresing and get on that flight, girl!!”

A little more context please

The short video left a lot of unanswered questions. Viewers were still in the dark as to why exactly Diane was standing in Victoria’s garage. There has to be a reason right? Luckily Victoria would return with a storytime explaining the entire backstory to the situation. Turns out it’s all to do with the HOA that looks after the grounds. Why do HOAs always seem to be more trouble than they’re worth?

According to Victoria the sprinkler controls for all the condos were located in her garage and a technician was due to come out to service them that day. However, they were running over three hours late which meant the service would clash with Victoria having to leave for her flight. Diane, who had organised the service despite the sprinklers not being necessary at this time of year, refused to let Victoria close her garage even after the police were called.

Eventually Diane did back down and Victoria was able to catch her flight but she explained in her follow up video that the situation is still very much ongoing. In the end Victoria its she feels “sorry and sad” for the woman “that her whole life is really obsessive over us and the sprinkler system.”
