‘All to subsidize Jeff Bezos’ next $500 million yacht’: Elizabeth Warren blasts Trump’s bill that will cause ’14 million people lose health insurance’

President Trump has been trying hard to his somewhat unpopular tax bill. Senator Elizabeth Warren is the latest politician to publicly share her perspective on why she doesn’t want the bill to go through.

At first glance, you wouldn’t understand why anyone would be against a bill that proposes tax cuts. Trump has even called it “the big beautiful bill.” In many ways, this is so far his most important policy issue. Every president has had at least one. President Biden had his $1 trillion infrastructure bill. President Obama had the Affordable Care Act. And if reports are to be believed, Trump’s new overstuffed bill is going to significantly affect that.

The first red flag about Trump’s “big beautiful bill,” as it concerns Medicaid, is the work requirement. The bill proposes that able-bodied adults without children must work for 80 hours in order to qualify for Medicaid. It’s a complex task because not only will it be susceptible to istrative barriers, but it’s also going to be difficult to all types of work.

Then there’s the biannual updates requirement, which could also lead Americans to lose their health insurance simply because they didn’t file their paperwork. Some experts estimate that up to 7.7 million Americans will lose their coverage for this reason alone. Of course, there’s also the final group of people who are undocumented, which Trump relishes removing from coverage but they make up the smallest number of those affected, at just over 1.4 million people. It’s worth mentioning that it’s the undocumented immigrants who Trump made it seem like are the only ones who will be affected.

As all this information pours in and Americans grow more informed, a reporter stopped Trump to ask him if he can guarantee that his working-class voters won’t lose their coverage. Trump responded that he can guarantee nobody will lose their coverage — and not only that, but he’s cutting drug prices by 85%.

When a posted that interaction on X, Senator Elizabeth Warren was having none of it. Senator Warren blasted Trump, saying, “Independent analysts say 14 MILLION PEOPLE will lose their health insurance under the ‘big, beautiful bill’—all to subsidize Jeff Bezos’ next $500 million yacht.”

Senator Warren, who has been one of Trump’s biggest critics, was noting that the people who asked for and will probably benefit most from this bill are the billionaire class, who are required by law to pay high tax rates — and according to some critics, don’t even pay enough as is.

Regardless, the billionaire class is clearly who Trump relates to the most and looks out for the most. This is the bill he wants to be his legacy and is clearly doing everything to champion it and defend it from naysayers. What’s a bit ironic is that Trump’s istration is claiming this bill will cut out fraud within the medical insurance field. And considering the other side of that coin is that the “reduced” fraud will supposedly make healthcare cheaper — and therefore in need of less tax revenue from the billionaires who are instead using that money on flying Katy Perry to space — Senator Warren is on point with this one.
