Fans have but one demand for the MCU debut of one of Marvel’s most powerful heroes

And it's a debut that could be closer than we think.

Fifteen years and over 30 projects later, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has barely even scratched the surface of the comic book world’s power level depths. Indeed, if you thought the likes of Thanos, Dormammu, the Ancient One, and Scarlet Witch tipped the scales to unprecedented heights, just wait until we meet the Beyonder, Molecule Man, and the inevitable influx of Omega-level mutants that will the fray once the X-Men enter the fold.

And one such character could be making his appearance sooner than we think, and that’s Silver Surfer, a former astronomer by the name of Norrin Radd who devoted his life to serving Galactus in exchange for the planet-eater’s sparing of his homeworld. Having been granted access to a portion of the Power Cosmic following his allegiance to Galactus — which grants him the ability to manipulate the energy of the universe, travel at lightspeed and through time, among other incredible feats — the Silver Surfer is one tough customer.

With rumors of a Silver Surfer-centric MCU television special becoming at least a monthly occurrence these days, Marvel fans are showing no shortage of zest in their anticipation for the cosmic warrior’s bow in Kevin Feige’s world. But, according to a pack of s on r/marvelstudios, fans won’t be wholly satisfied unless Marvel adheres to this one particularity.

When the question of whether the Silver Surfer’s adventures should take place in outer space or on Earth was posed to Reddit, responders were adamant that Norrin Radd be placed firmly off-world; after all, with the Guardians of the Galaxy seemingly on their way out, the galaxy is going to be in need of another guardian soon.

Unfortunately, with no official announcement as of yet, as well as Marvel’s apparent re-evaluation of its roap, Silver Surfer’s debut could be farther away than we thought. On the other hand, this is a character that was popular enough to anchor his own solo video game back in ’90s, so Marvel might be wise to prioritize delving into this bit of real estate. However long we have to wait, this is one character that fans will be saving a hefty amount of applause for.
