With 11.4 million followers on Twitch and 11.7 million subscribers on his YouTube (and 1.5 billion views on his channel), it’s safe to say that Tfue was at the top of his game when he made the announcement. His emotional farewell video simply titled ‘Goodbye…’ gave his fans an explanation for why he had made the decision. In it, the streamer reminisces on the journey he’s had so far. “It’s been a long f***ing road, dude, I feel like I’m about to cry.”

Tfue has been creating gaming content across multiple platforms for almost 10 years, and he’s amassed a pretty dedicated fanbase in that time. The video also montages some of the best clips from his time on the internet. However, after a period of infrequent posting across his channels that saw him put out barely any content, Tfue has explained that he no longer wants to make money from making gaming content anymore, which is understandable as he’s one of the richest streamers. He explained that he would rather focus on his real-life family and friends. While it is sad, it’s a pretty solid reason to step back from content creation.

In the video description, Tfue thanked his fans for their over the years and explains his hope that the video will clear up any confusion.

“I can’t put into words how grateful and thankful I am for you guys who ed me throughout the years. Thank you to all the fans and the friends I’ve made along the way, I’m for ever grateful for how positive and real you guys are. I wouldn’t take anything back for the world. I hope this video helps clear up some questions and confusion about my absence during the past couple of months. Much love to you all, until next time.”

Responses from fans were reasonably upset, but most understood his decision to leave.

“Preparing for the biggest return in gaming history.

You will be missed, but we will all remain proud.

Goodbye, for now.”

“Mental health is the most important thing man… watching this definitely just put some perspective on my own life. Wherever you go, whatever you do, do it for you and your best interests. The universe favors the bold. Stay safe out there Tfue. We will be here for your legendary comeback. P&L”

“Legends never die”

While it is certainly sad to see such an iconic content creator quit in his prime, it’s also pretty irable. The decision to quit while ahead is something few content creators ever get to experience. More often than not, they will fade into irrelevance or be swept up in some controversy, so it’s refreshing to see a streamer get to end things on his own .

Tfue will undoubtedly be missed, but this is a pretty happy conclusion. His videos will likely stay up on his channel, so fans will always be able to go back and relive their favorite moments.
