‘Harry should be prosecuted’: Britain demands Duke of Sussex pay for committing treason against King Charles

I don't think prison guards are the kind of security Harry's looking for.

2025 really hasn’t been the year for charity he co-founded imploded in on itself, then he lost his court case, and now people are calling for him to be tried for treason. No wonder he’s losing his hair.

But let’s take a step back for a second. Why exactly are people so mad at the prince? Well it’s all tied to his decision to publicly air his grievances with his father last week during a BBC interview. Harry claimed that King Charles has left.

The prince’s comment caused some upset

Speaking on a live episode of the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential, royal expert Richard Eden revealed that he had “had several people me to say that Harry should be prosecuted for treason.” Eden went on to say that the way Harry put it contradicted the official statements coming from the palace.

“The way he sort of put it, ‘I don’t know how long he has left’, it really struck the opposite tone to what we have heard from the Palace which is one of positivity about his treatment. It did seem deeply unpleasant, I would say.”

However the events at the VE day celebrations over the weekend seemingly proves the unruly prince wrong. According to another royal expert, Rebecca English, Charles was “on really good form.”

“I walking out and thinking, he looks on really good form – how happy he looks, how animated he is. And then for the next day, his son to do that to him, I thought was pretty distasteful.”

Prince Harry’s negative outlook has rubbed people up the wrong way, especially as it comes during a timer when it appears as though the king is doing a lot better.

Could Harry really be prosecuted for treason?

It sounds silly, but there is a case to be made that Harry’s comments could be considered treasonous. In law, there is something known as the Treason Act 1351, which essentially states that it is a crime to “com” or “imagine” the death of the king, queen, or their eldest son. It mainly refers to people plotting such events, but the definition of “imagine” could be used against Harry here.

That being said, there’s almost a 0% chance Harry will be prosecuted for treason. However, the fact that people are making such demands shows just how terrible the public’s perception of Harry is right now. Some believe he may be trying to emotionally manipulate his father into reconciliation. Whether that is truly the case or not is unclear, but one thing is for certain, the prince should probably avoid talking about his father’s health in the future.
