The controversial thriller We Need to Talk About Kevin, directed by Lynne Ramsay and starring John C. Reilly and Tilda Swinton, has been announced for Blu-Ray in May.

Independent distributor Oscilloscope Pictures will be releasing the film, which means we can expect unique cardboard packaging and a respectful amount of bonus content. They tend to take care of their films, which is a relief because I was beginning to think that no studio would be brave enough to pick this film up for release.

I have yet to see the film, but from what I’ve heard it’s a very unsettling experience. Our very own Will Chadwick gave it a perfect score in his review. Here’s what he had to say.

A brooding, unnerving but wholly rewarding film. Tilda Swinton absolutely takes centre stage of Lynne Ramsay’s masterly adaptation of an unfilmable book and together give us one of the year’s best films.

Oscilloscope hasn’t provided any technical specifications or bonus content lists, but they have scheduled the release for May 29th, 2012.

I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
