‘Avengers: Endgame’ guest star pushing Disney for their own spinoff series

It's about time 'Endgame's secret MVP got his time to shine.

What an absolute juggernaut of a film Avengers: Endgame is; beyond boasting a cultural impact that many a movie would be jealous of, it, appropriately enough, marked quite a significant turning point for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Indeed, gone are the days of straight-shooting, exclusively theatrical solo pieces that gel together almost effortlessly, and in its place is this dizzying franchise that’s beginning to rival Star Wars in the realm of dubiously cohesive spinoffs.

But apparently, Marvel Studios has yet to take a stab at what could be the most important spinoff of them all; namely, the story of the man who we truly have to thank for Thanos’ demise, according to none other than Endgame guest star Ken Jeong.

In an interview with ComicBook, Jeong jokingly declared that his Marvel character, an unnamed security guard armed with a terrifying mustache/mullet combo, covertly executed the saving of the world from off-camera, and that he’s been pushing for a Security Boy story ever since; a project that Disney, strangely enough, doesn’t seem keen on prioritizing.

I appreciate you bringing it up because even though I starred in Avengers: Endgame and it was like that even that I had no lines and a completely unrecognizable cameo, I had a mullet that I wore myself that I grew out myself for like nine months. I had a mustache and I had glasses. I was barely seen and I was barely noticed but I saved the world. I’ve been pitching Security Boy to Disney Plus for the longest time and they’re like ‘We’ll get back to you.’

Suffice to say that Security Boy won’t be popping up in our Disney Plus queues any time soon, even if Jeong is determined to speak it into existence one way or another. Joking aside, it would probably be quite the sight to see what an ordinary security detail tasked with keeping an eye on apprehended enhanced individuals would get up to in the run of a day; a workplace sitcom set in the walls of the Department of Damage Control?
